Helping Bull Terriers Worldwide started like many other organizations with a mission of one person trying to make a difference. Gabi Weiser, a founder of HBTW, fell in love at first sight when she met Tank. Tank, a bull Terrier, was not a perfect dog; he had both medical and behavioral issues, but Gabi knew if she did not help this dog that he would become another forgotten bull terrier in the bull breed statistics. Gabi and Tank had a special bond and that bond inspired a larger vision.
Gabi envisioned a world where no bull terrier would be lost, forgotten, neglected, or abused. She set out to bring like-minded people together with the same vision and so Helping Bull Terriers Worldwide was born.
Our mission is to ensure that no bull terrier should ever be without adequate food, shelter or medical care. We are do this by raising funds for individuals and rescues around the world. We started raising funds by conducting Facebook auction where supporters donated and bid on items listed on our Facebook page. Our first success was when we were able to send $400 for Sol and her puppies to receive medical attention and later be transported from Mexico to the U.S. for adoption.
In 2018, HBTW raised over $25,000. We have since expanded our fund-raising efforts to include bimonthly raffles, quarterly auctions, and even our own store. Currently, we are in the process of securing corporate and foundation sponsorship to further our mission.
